Well, it seems us bag holders that are left are going to get screwed more until Festiva goes bankrupt. Another $290 special assessment fee this year on top of maintenance fees that are now over $2000 a year for mediocre resorts.
The quality and selection of resorts continues to go down hill. In latest billing letter, Festiva projects a loss of 2 million dollars this year due to declining membership. I may just join the crowd and refuse my maintenance fee payments. At 75, I really don't give a crap if my credit gets ruined.
Used to be a great a company when under Peppertree. Then Festiva took over selection and quality of resorts has went downhill ever since. Now they are trying to push thier RTX exchange. Another joke!
To even get a decent exchange you have to upgrade. WARNING TO ALL.

We purchased at Ellington about 12 years ago. They sold me a lifetime platinum reward, but I've never been able to use it.
When you ask about it, they deny any knowledge of it. They promised me a lifetime, 40 years of golf discounts on this course. They sold the property off and now there's no more golf. I can honestly say that in the 12 years I've owned this, I've never met a satisfied owner, and I've had 2 offers to give me their points.
Maintenance fees are crazy for a 1-star property at best. I went to Orlando once and the fire alarm was duct-taped to the wall. The doors wouldn't open; there were so many code violations. They actually tried to sell me more points.
I asked the guy, 'Would you stay in this dump?' He said no, he trades the points for RTX. I live in NC, where their home office is located.
I'm asking the Attorney General to investigate them. I just want to get away from these crooks.

I had this timeshare for a lo gtime since at least my daughter was five or six and know she just turn eighteen.I was told after i paud it off u would purchace it back if i could not afford it or keep my msintanve fees ip but know u kerp sending d bills. Use new my husband is disable .i dont want to get a lawyer i want use to hold up to your promise of what u told use at tge tine of purchace in branson dyring are vaction.

Inquiry into renting timeshare (week owner Phelps) at Ocean Club unit 112 week 25
I would like to advantage renting the subject unit and week at Ocean Club in Mrytle Beach, SC for this year's reservation under Terry and Barbara Phelps. Unable to use and would like to recoup fees paid. Thanks

We have had this over 29 years and have been able to use it 1 time for 1 week..awfully expensive vacation!!!
Biggest waste of money we have ever been dealta scam company all the way.. told to reserve a year in advance..tried that and that was too far in advanceany less and there is no availabilityhighly disgusted with Festiva.

We do not recommend Festiva Resorts to anyone. Originally, we had been owners of another timeshare that we had a designated week every year.
When it was purchased by Festiva, it was converted to a points system. This is when all our problems began. It is impossible to book partial weeks, much less entire weeks, using our points. Of course, they told us we did not have enough points to do the things we wanted.
They force you into required members meetings which were just more high-pressure sales presentations that last hours! All they want is for you to spend more money for upgrades you dont need. You almost feel like a hostage at these meetings that drag on all day long! They promise you gift cards at these meetings, which we have never received.
Theyve misrepresented almost every aspect of our timeshare contract and now our children are worried because they will be obligated to take over the ownership. They told us we could go travel anywhere at anytime in the Festiva organization. Absolutely not true! They will say things like You can use your points to purchase products such as computers and iPads or You can save up your points and cash them in for a family trip to Disney World we have learned that these are all lies!
They even told us our timeshare was an investment and we could make money. Just plain dishonest!

- Can stay there for less if not an owner
- Forced sales meetings
- Deceived and lied to

Expose our experience with Festiva’s practices to alert others
My wife and I were manipulated byFestiva salespeople to upgrade our timeshare with them,over and over,to get to somemagical owner-level,where we would finally have access to services and properties we were promised years before.We were tricked out of thousands of dollars and lied to aboutlowmaintenance fees that have gone from $950 to over$2800!Not to mention more fees to do with everything reserving properties.Selling a long term vacation contract to a70+year old is a scam at best.But they have a great plan just for you!And dont worry,if you invest enough,they offer you a death clause,for another exorbitant fee,about $7000 extra.Weve thrown away so much money paying tobank points,we couldnt use,and lost thousands of points ,STILL ,paying maintenance fees on them!Lack of availability,selling us vacations we would never be able to use and a financial burden that will long outlive us.Our retirement vacation dreams have been a nightmare with Festiva.

Displeased with rentals
Rented a timeshare week in Ocean City, MD. The resort was rundown and dirty.
We didn't even stay and contacted Festiva about my displeasure and no reply. Bad service and properties are sub-par at best.
