We went on a tour at Peppertree, Atlantic Beach, NC. They had just moved into their "new offices" so things were pretty "unprofessional" when we showed up for our tour.

We were impressed with the "travel club" and the website and how our points could be converted to be used on cruises and used for airfare. We already own "enough" points with Wyndham, so Kenny went "in for the kill" by selling us on the travel club. He LIED to us and told us we would be able to convert our Wyndham points and use them on the website for future cruises or airfare. He LIED and said this is exactly what his parents have done.

Fearing that we were being sold something too good to be true, we made the offer to pay only for the "club" and paid almost $4,000 using our credit card. We were hoping to file a complaint if our offers were not made good by Festiva - and in the end, that's exactly what happened. Like so many of the other complaints I have read, we had trouble accessing our account online - which should have been up and running within 48 hours - it was more like over a month. Well, of course by this time and after numerous phone calls, it was too late to "cancel" the transaction before 5 days.

Long story short is I wrote a letter to the Asheville address, got a response that I couldn't cancel or get a refund because I PAID IN FULL. Really? Like they were going to refund me if I was on a payment plan??? Anyway, we did a 3 way call with my credit card company - no results.

Credit card company refunded the almost $4K, but now they have been contacted by Festiva and we have to provide documentation of our contact with Festiva - what we were promised vs what we got. The $4K charge will show up on my card again with my next statement. I am afraid from reading all these comments that I am out $4K with NOTHING to show for it - no points, no website, no airfare, no cruises, no nothing...but lies!!!

I will most definitely be contacting the AG in NC!!! There is no customer service and this company should have to pay!

Monetary Loss: $4000.

Location: Atlantic Beach, North Carolina

Can you please give an update on your outcome? We are in pretty much the same exact situation.

We went to the presentation at Peppertree Atlantic Beach in August 2014 and purchased against our better judgement. Should have know it was all too good to be true and a complete scam. Everything you describe is exactly what we have experienced as well. It's coming up on three years and we have not used this timeshare once.

We just want our money back and out of this contract. I have reached out to the NC Attorney general but am seeing that may not get me anywhere.

Looking to see what steps I should take next and what if anything has worked for others who have been swindled by Festiva. Thanks!

We have had a similar experience at Peppertree Atlantic Beach, NC and would be interested in joining others in contacting the Attorney General in NC. Anyone interested?

Hi hdor,

Thanks for letting us know about your experience. At Festiva we want all our members to feel like they're part of the family.

It sounds like that wasn't the impression we gave you, and I'm sorry for that! Please email MemberSolutions@***.com with your full name and contact information so we can get started making this right for you.

Saturday, 19 October 2014, Charleston, SC: Agreed to Festivia tour because we wanted to see the rooms at this resort and use our banked RCI points for units of exchange in Spring 2015 for a family reunion. Salesman did not know his business, so his supervisor took over and almost had me sold on their RTX exchange system.

But my wife who was already smarting from RCI interface balked at buying any more points. We were then offered to buy into RTX as a stand alone for $4800.

From the RTX website you can join up for just a yearly fee of $297! Glad my wife stood firm.
